UD offers online courses during the fall, spring and summer terms. Online courses are indicated by a section number of 60-65. UD online courses are offered over an eight-week span. Online courses can be found in the Academic Catalog.

Online courses are only recommended for students who have strong study skills, self-discipline and can work independently.

UD offers an opportunity for students to earn up to 3 credits in just under 3 weeks during the month of May. All May-term courses are offered in a face-to-face format.

In addition to May-Term, UD offers two traditional summer sessions. In-person classes are four weeks long and online courses are eight weeks in duration.

In order to be eligible for summer financial aid, students must register for a minimum of 6 credits May-August (includes May-Term). Summer tuition and policies can be found on the Registrar's Summer School webpage.

Students considering taking summer courses outside of UD should consult with their academic advisor. Additionally, anyone taking courses elsewhere must complete the Request to take a course at another college form to confirm the course they are taking elsewhere will indeed transfer back to UD as intended.
